Project: Visual Analysis of International Draughts Games
Description
International draughts is a two-player board game played on a 10 by 10 board. To analyze matches or research tactics for this game several datasets are available. Among others, a historic database of matches and a database that gives, for positions with a limited number of pieces on the board, the outcome of a match by perfect play.
To support an advanced player in improving his skills a tool will be designed that supports the user to explore the datasets in an interactive visual application. In the tool it should not only be possible to replay a match, but also to evaluate a board position, to evaluate the graph that represents strategies in that position, to present matches that contain this position, and more. For this it is expected that a combination of visualizations and analysis is needed, which should be combined in an attractive highly interactive visual analytics tool.
