Project: Detection of erroneous branches in vessel segmentations

Description

Philips Research is developing a medical tool. This tool helps a surgeon navigate through the vascular structure of the human brain. It helps the surgeonby planning a path through the brain. It shows the path in a 3D visualizationof the brain. This visualization and path is created from a model of the brain.It happens that the path is wrongly planned because of errors in the model ofthe brain. These errors are undesirable connections in the model. The goalof this master project is to investigate how these undesirable connections canbe detected. This resulted in two detection algorithms for two different typesof undesirable connections. These two types of undesirable connections arecalled false branches and merged branches,
